This analysis of the school magazine is aimed to help me know what kinds of existing products are already out there, and to work out what they contain. It also demonstrates how they aim on making the front page eye-catching and how it sells what it contains. It achieves this through giving a quote of an article inside it; this helps to make the audience interested in the magazine. The fact that it also has the school logo is important as well, as it demonstrates a sense a sense of familiarity to be linked back to the school. The picture that it has been linked to on the front page as well shows what kind of image they want to portray for the school. The photo shows a child looking decent and working hard, as this is how they want their school to be seen. The picture is proven to be a major consideration when designing a magazine as it is the main focal point of the page and is the first impression that you will get. Overall the school has been made to appear hard-working and successful through use of different techniques, it has also been made to be eye-catching through different methods as well.
Clearly working well and getting through the tasks. You do however need to move from being descriptive to being analytical, the best way to do this is engage with semiotic terminology. Don't worry if you use it incorrectly at first as I will help with that but you must start to use it.
